Roof repairs near the coast
Along the Northern Beaches, from Manly and Dee Why to Avalon and Palm Beach, salt spray and strong southerly and north-easterly winds are hard on roofs. Salt speeds up corrosion of fixings, flashings and metal sheets, and wind lifts loose ridge caps and tiles.
Many homes on the North Shore have older tiled roofs with mortar-bedded ridges, and leafy streets mean valleys and gutters fill with leaves. Both are common leak points, so we check them as part of every inspection.

Why does my ceiling leak in a different spot from the roof damage?
Water often runs along battens, sarking or rafters before it drips onto a ceiling, so the stain can be a metre or more from the actual entry point. That is why we inspect the roof itself rather than guessing from inside.
Is it worth repairing an old roof, or should I replace it?
Often a targeted repair is the right answer. If a roof has widespread problems, such as many porous tiles or rust through the sheets, repeated repairs can cost more than a replacement over time. We give you an honest view after the inspection.
Do you repair both tiled and metal roofs?
Yes. We repair terracotta and concrete tiled roofs as well as Colorbond and other metal roofs, including the flashings, valleys and gutters that go with them.
